SIM is a community of God’s people who delight to worship Him and are passionate about the Gospel, seeking to fulfill the mission of Jesus Christ in the world.

SIM Ethiopia is a team of SIM members, associates, and Ethiopian staff who are committed to working together to see biblical, contextual churches planted among unreached people and to see churches empowered for spiritual growth into missions outreach. 

What We Do:

SIM Ethiopia focuses on helping people both see and hear the good news of Jesus Christ through practical ministries which meet human need and through living out and teaching God’s truths. We also focus on seeing believers become spiritually growing people formed into local churches which are equipped to shepherd their members and have a vision to reach others cross-culturally.

Our priority strategies include:
  • Leadership development - through formal and non-formal theological training
  • Making disciples - through adult, youth and children’s ministries
  • Targeted outreach - to those who have never heard the gospel
  • Community development - including HIV/AIDs, health, water, education and agriculture
  • Youth - outreach and development
  • Media – radio and media publication and distribution
  • Missions mobilization - to facilitate sending of workers beyond Ethiopia

The Ethiopian Kale Heywot Church (Word of Life-EKHC), which grew out of SIM’s ministry since 1927, consists of nearly 7 million believers, and is SIM’s priority partner church.
